OUR ETHOS

The Forum has been in the works for several years. We previously owned August Barbershop and Coffeeshop in downtown Redwood City (est. 2016), which was a community-driven, creative safe space where people could gather, connect, and feel at home. In late 2021, we were forced to close during the pandemic due to new regulations that did not allow coffee service and hair services to operate simultaneously.

Although that chapter ended, the vision never did.

The Forum was born from our desire to create that sense of community again, this time with intention and focus. While combining coffee and barbering was once part of the dream, we now believe that each creative discipline deserves its own dedicated space. The Forum exists as a space purely for connection, creation, and expression.

To us, The Forum is a safe space: a place where people can gather, share ideas, showcase talent, and build community. Whether we are directly involved in an event or simply providing the venue, our mission is to support others in bringing their visions to life. We are excited to offer a space that uplifts artists, organizers, and community members alike.

As Redwood City natives, we are proud to continue serving our community and are excited to expand that spirit into San Carlos. The Forum represents our commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming environments where creativity and culture can thrive.
